1937 OVALTINE "RADIO ORPHAN ANNIE'S SECRET SOCIETY" CLUB MANUAL
.  Millions of children listened faithfully to NBC radio's daily children's episodic serial based on the popular "LITTLE ORPHAN ANNIE" newspaper comic strip.  This colorful manual codifies beliefs, practices and secret techniques to converse with fellow members.  In addition, the radio show broadcast a coded message every day which could only be deciphered with the use of a special decoder badge described in the manual.  The booklet is approximately 6" wide and 8 3/4" tall.
See attached photos for a closer look.  Not all pages are shown.  Member wrote their name and address where instructed on the back cover in pencil; light wear from normal use.  A wonderful look as childhood in the Great Depression.
