History:

There is very little known about the early history of "Paas" Dye Company, even its official website is bleak of details: other than the founder William Townley in 1893 discovered a formula for the colored dye and according to a State of New Jersey report, had 27 employees in 1901.
·
What is known, is that this is the very 1st fully licensed by K.F.S/King Features Syndicate Phantom related collectible.
·
This item even precedes the 1944 Syroco figure produced by Farina in 1944.
·
Not only is it very difficult to find unused/uncut sheets with envelopes, dyes & dipping tools from 1940 but to find the complete! series of (4) KFS / Disneyland Production sheets an even greater discovery.

4 Original 1940 Envelopes, 5.5/8"

4 Original Different Transfer Sheets.
·
4 Color Dye Packs
·
4 Crayons / some broken see pictures
·
4 Original dipping/solution tool.
·
The sheets contained all your favorite King Features characters such as -2 - different Ray Moore depictions of The Phantom; images taken directly from the Sunday and Daily newspaper stories

(Note: The
Red and Green
costume color schemes) these color variations were popularized prior to the latter Purple variation)

Note: The Green Phantom transfer is more commonly seen, but the
Red Phantom transfer is the most allusive of all
!)
The KFS transfers also included images of Prince Valiant, Flash Gordon, Popeye, Blondie and more.

The Disneyland transfers include such characters as Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Bambi and others.
